Microsoft released the optional update KB5077241 on February 24 for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. With 29 changes in the changelog, this is not just a security patch — it brings new features that users have been requesting for a while.
Headline feature: built-in internet speed test
One of the most talked-about additions is a native internet speed test built right into the Windows taskbar. No more opening a browser and going to Speedtest.net or Fast.com. Which version of Windows 11 do you need
This update applies to Windows 11 version 24H2 (build 26100) and version 25H2 (build 26200). If you are on an older version like 23H2, the update will not appear. In that case, upgrading to 24H2 first is recommended.
